Sithembile Ndlovu

Sithembile Ndlovu is a qualified Child and Youth Development Practitioner and a young Social Entrepreneur from Dassenhoek, Durban – South Africa. She is a co-founder of Sithuthukile Pre School and Eliny’ithuba NPC. Sithembile aims to educate, advocate, empower and improve the lives of children and youth in underprivileged circumstances through her passion for social science. She holds a Degree of Bachelor of Technology in Child and Youth Development and a National Diploma in Child and Youth Development from the Durban University of Technology. Previously, she did her practical experience at Pinetown Girls High School where she provided counselling and activity programming for the learners. She is currently part of the South African, Mandela Washington Fellowship Alumni Association Board.

Sithembile is a 2017 Mandela Washington Fellow in the Civic leadership track obtained from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the United States of America. After the fellowship she participated in a Professional Development Experience at the City of Seattle Department of Education and Early Learning.

In 2016 Sithembile was awarded as one of the top 10 young social entrepreneurs in South Africa to join Monash South Africa’s MSALEAD yearlong fellowship program. She has obtained a Civic Leadership Certificate from YALI RLC SA through UNISA School of Business and Leadership and a volunteer’s certificate from the 21st International AIDS conference in 2016.

In 2018, Sithembile was selected by Democracy Development Program NPC as one of their associate facilitators in Civic Education. Through this association Sithembile values the opportunity to facilitate and enhance active citizenship through dialogues with communities working together with DDP.
