Dr Rajab is the Chairperson of the DDP board. She was educated in South Africa and in the USA as a Fulbright scholar. She obtained her Master’s degree in Educational Psychology at the University of Kansas and her PhD in Social Psychology from Missouri. She lectured in Social Psychology for seven years at the University of Durban-Westville and was registered as a Counselling Psychologist with the Health Services Council of SA. Dr Rajab was in private practice for three years before joining the staff of the University of Natal in 1989 as the head of Counselling Centre of the former University of Natal. From 1992-2005 she was the Dean of Student Development at the University of KwaZulu Natal. She is a four-time recipient of the Vodacom Journalist of the Year Award.
