Democracy Development Program (DDP) hosted a 2 day capacity building workshop on the 19 -20 September 2018 at Onomo Hotel in Durban. 

This workshop was designed and attended by NGO leaders and their communications person. According to the facilitator Marisol Gutierrez, the workshop covered All aspects of Marketing an NPO and positioning its name and logo – its brand – as a household name.

"It has been done successfully by several NPOs in amazingly short spaces of time", said Gutierrez.

The workshop covered the following areas:

  • Adopting a marketing attitude rather than a charity mindset

  • The importance of marketing – one can’t fundraise in a vacuum

DDP will host a follow up workshop and the invite will be circulated on as soon as it is available.
