DDP convened a book launch on transformation: “What is transformation in contemporary South African higher education? how can it be facilitated through research and pedagogic practices? These questions are addressed in this edited collection by established academics and emerging research students from nine South African Universities”. The event was held at Onomo Hotel on 15th April 2019.
Lukhona Mnguni, well-known political analyst gave an insight on the book and how it can help shape the future of student life at South African universities and residences.
The book was written by Stellenbosch University Professors, Ronelle Carolissen and Prof Rob Pattman. The book gives access to students’ worlds; how they construct, experience and navigate their complex spheres, on and off campus. It exemplifies transformative practices in teaching and research by invoking universities as sits of critical sociological and psychological research.
