The Lindelani Youth Forum on the 10th of November 2020, hosted a Gender-Based Violence Dialogue at Ntuzuma “A” Hall. This dialogue was aimed at conscientizing community members about GBV and to influence citizens sense of urgency towards ending Gender-Based-Violence in society. They wanted citizens to break the silence when witnessing any form of violence, rape and harassment against women and children in this community.
It is important for all sectors to engage with the issue of Gender-Based-Violence, young people and in particular young men should be in the fore-front of that conversation. This is because findings have proven that it is mostly men who are perpetrators of Gender-Based-Violence, the conversation and the road to ending GBV would be meaningless without them. Therefore, as a civil society organization we will continue to support our partners and any other civil society organization and institution that seeks to become leading initiators of the conversation and action against GBV.
