Women, Democracy and Leadership Dialogue: Ulundi

DDP in partnership with ULundi Municipality hosted a women’s dialogue to unpack Active Participation and Gender Equality Practices for Women. This dialogue was held at PZ Phakathi community Hall at Ulundi, Northern KwaZulu Natal on the 10th March 2022, and was facilitated by Phakamile Mazibuko founder of Pakamile Mazibuko Foundation.

The objectives of the dialogue were to:

  • Engage with women on aspects of democracy, leadership, and equality.
  • Negotiate strategies and assist women in understanding their individual roles/responsibility to promote gender equality.
  • Encourage women’s active participation in promoting gender equality practices.

The targeted group for this engagement was women of the rural community called Ulundi in Zululand District, KwaZulu-Natal province, and was also attended by His Worship the Mayor Cllr W.M Ntshangase, Deputy Mayor Cllr, T. G Madela, Chief Whip, and Speaker, Cllr. Buthelezi of the Municipality
