Women, Democracy and Leadership Dialogue- Msunduzi Municipality

DDP Partner Liaison and Development Officer Mbalenhle Mkhize.

The Democracy Development Program convened a dialogue with women at Msunduzi Municipality and surrounding areas. This dialogue was guided by the theme: Enhancing Active Participation and Gender Equality Practices for Women and complemented by subjects such as leadership and development and advocacy, lobbying, and gender equality. This was aimed at building momentum of women’s active participation in democratic processes, and active participation in structures talking about governance and development.

The dialogue was attended by Honourable Council Speaker Cllr Uenice Nomagugu Majola of Msunduzi Municpality, Ms Nontobeko Mkhize from NAFCOC and Ms. Nonmfundo Msomi from Women of Worth Movement Society.

This dialogue was held at Msunduzi City Hall in Pietermaritzburg on 20 May 2022 and was facilitated by Phakamile Mazibuko.
