The Open Society Foundation South Africa project team hosted the project evaluation session in uMngeni Municipality. This is an evaluation session that seeks to monitor and evaluate this project’s work and level of impact in the specific area. Evaluations will be done per municipality as per project targeted municipalities, the first evaluation session was hosted in uMngeni municipality. This is an area that belongs to the Mgungundlovu District Municipality, which is predominated by rural areas dealing with issues of high unemployment, poverty, and inequality. The project was guided by the theme of Promoting youth political participation and engagement: reclaiming a youth-friendly democracy, which in short means enhancing young people’s consciousness about democracy, politics, and youth participation to improve electoral outcomes for the 2024 Provincial and National Elections and those that will come after.

The session was held at Zenzeleni Community center at Mpophomeni on the 26th of September 2022 and was facilitated by Wiseman Dlamini.
