The Open Society Foundation South Africa project team hosted a project evaluation session in Mkhambathini Municipality. This is an evaluation session that seeks to monitor and evaluate this project’s work and level of impact in the specific area. This session was done per municipality as per project targeted municipalities, the first evaluation session was hosted in Mkhambathini Municipality. This area belongs to uMgungundlovu District Municipality, which is predominated by rural areas dealing with high unemployment, poverty, and inequality issues. The project was guided by the theme of Promoting youth political participation and engagement: reclaiming a youth-friendly democracy, which in short means enhancing young people’s consciousness about democracy, politics, and youth participation to improve electoral outcomes for 2024 Provincial and National Elections and those that will come after.
