The Democracy Development Program, in partnership with the Center for the Advancement of Non-Racialism and Democracy, hosted an inception workshop under the Promoting Electoral Integrity by Civil Society” project; this workshop was held on 12 March in Durban KwaZulu Natal and on 14 March in Gqeberha, the Eastern Cape.
The aim of the project is to enhance the oversight capabilities of civil society in the upcoming 2024 election through elections observation by the civil society organizations. The proposed project ultimately aims to enhance the trust levels of the citizenry in all electoral processes.
Intended Outcomes
- Identify challenges to be addressed by the project
- Discuss potential stakeholders to engage over the course of the project
- Engage on the election timeline
- Encourage electoral turnout and voter participation
