On March 28, 2024, the Democracy Development Program (DDP) hosted a thought-provoking community dialogue at the Msunduzi Municipality, focusing on the intersection of women, democracy, and leadership in contemporary society.
The event provided a platform for robust discussions, with participants delving into the crucial issue of gender representation. Conversations centered on the strides made towards achieving equality for women through legislative frameworks in the 21st century.
Attendees engaged in analyzing the effectiveness of existing legislation in promoting gender equality and addressing persistent disparities in leadership roles. Key topics included the implementation of policies to enhance women’s participation in decision-making processes and the eradication of barriers hindering their advancement in various spheres of society.
