On July 18, 2024, the Democracy Development Program’s Local Governance Learning and Advocacy Network (DDP LGLAN) hosted a pivotal workshop at the Edward Hotel in Durban. The event was a cornerstone for activists learning to utilize legislative instruments to hold municipalities accountable. It was a day marked by insightful discussions, knowledge sharing, and the strengthening of a collective resolve to ensure transparent and responsive local governance. This workshop not only highlighted the power of informed civic engagement but also reinforced the LGALN’s commitment to fostering an environment where community leaders are empowered to catalyze positive change in municipal administration.
Xoliswa Jwili, a DDP associate facilitator and legal practitioner, facilitated the workshop.
